    Western Pennsylvania Special Hockey Association
    The Pittsburgh Emperors is a special-needs hockey program dedicated to opening the world of ice hockey to children and adults with developmental or physical disabilities. Every donation helps create an environment where athletes of all abilities can experience the joy, confidence, and community that come from being part of a team.
    Our Mission
    The Western Pennsylvania Special Hockey Association is committed to organizing, promoting, and supporting adaptive hockey throughout the region. We welcome athletes regardless of sex, race, religion, or financial circumstances.

    Our mission is twofold:

    To make the sport of hockey accessible by offering a supportive environment tailored to the unique needs and skill levels of each athlete.
    To use hockey as a vehicle for personal growth, helping players build self-confidence, increase focus, develop accountability, and gain skills that benefit them both on and off the ice.

    How Your Donation Makes a Difference
    Every contribution has a meaningful impact on the athletes and families we serve:

     
    Ice Time
    We carefully structure ice sessions to provide two full hours of skating opportunities that best support our athletes. Donations help us secure the ice needed to run these sessions safely and effectively.

     
    Uniforms & Equipment
    All players receive uniforms and hockey gear free of charge. Your support ensures that every athlete—regardless of financial situation—can step on the ice fully equipped and ready to play.

     
    Adaptive Equipment
    Some athletes require specialized equipment to skate comfortably and safely. Donations help us acquire and maintain these adaptive tools, making hockey possible for everyone.

     
    Annual Tournament
    Each year, we host a special hockey tournament that brings in teams from around the region. Your contribution helps us run the event, welcome visiting teams, and provide a social gathering that celebrates community, sportsmanship, and inclusion.

  • Donor Appreciation Gifts

    $10 — Community Supporter: Donors at this level receive a digital thank-you message from the Pittsburgh Emperors along with their name listed on our “Friends of the Emperors” appreciation page.

    $25 — Rookie Supporter: This level includes all benefits from the $10 tier and adds a Pittsburgh Emperors logo sticker or magnet, along with an optional shout-out on our social media page.

    $50 — Supporter Level: Donors receive a Pittsburgh Emperors thank-you sticker along with a digital thank-you card from the team.

    $100 — Fan Level: This level includes everything from the $50 tier, plus an official Pittsburgh Emperors puck.

    $250 — Bronze Level: Donors receive all items from the $100 level, as well as a team photograph and recognition on our website donor wall.

    $500 — Silver Level: This level adds an official Pittsburgh Emperors T-shirt and a personalized thank-you note from an athlete, in addition to all benefits from the $250 tier.

    $1,000 — Gold Level: Donors receive all previously listed gifts, plus either a team-signed puck or a team-signed photograph, along with recognition in our annual tournament program.

    $1,500 — Platinum Level: This level includes all earlier rewards, an autographed hockey stick, and an invitation to attend a practice or behind-the-scenes session.

    $3,000 — Champion Level: Our highest donor tier features all prior benefits, a team-signed jersey, special recognition during our annual tournament ceremony, and the option to be acknowledged as a Major Sponsor for the season.
