The Pittsburgh Emperors are an adaptive hockey program operated under Western Pa Special Hockey Association, a registered 501(c)(3) public charity. Our organization is dedicated to providing individuals with developmental, intellectual, and physical disabilities the opportunity to participate in hockey in a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment.
We believe that every individual deserves the opportunity to experience the benefits of sport—teamwork, confidence, physical activity, and community—regardless of ability level.
Our mission is to empower individuals with disabilities through adaptive hockey by creating a structured, supportive, and inclusive environment where athletes can develop skills, build relationships, and grow both on and off the ice.
The Pittsburgh Emperors serve children, teens, and adults with disabilities and special needs throughout the Pittsburgh region. Our athletes have a wide range of abilities, and our programs are designed to meet each participant where they are, ensuring accessibility and inclusion for all.
We also support families by providing a welcoming community where caregivers, siblings, and supporters can connect and grow together.
