Coach Kelly Sheridan brings years of playing experience—from youth hockey to college club—to her role with the Emperors. With a background in special education and adaptive physical activity, she’s passionate about making hockey accessible and helping new players build confidence and skills. Originally from Minnesota and raised in Cleveland, Kelly works at Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and enjoys painting, taking walks, and spending time with her orange Persian cat, Toulouse. Her advice to young players: “Win the day.”

any): I have a degree in special educationprogramming with a focus on adaptive physical activity, a certification I find helpful for coaching adaptive hockey.

Where are you from originally? 

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota but mostlygrew up in the greater Cleveland area.

Do you have kids or pets? 

No Kids, but I have a biggrumpy orange Persian cat named Toulouse!

What do you do outside of coaching? 

I work for CarnegieMuseums of Pittsburgh in the Government Sponsored Projects (Grants) Office.As for hobbies, I like to paint, take walks, play hockey, and hang out with friends.

Playing hockey when I have time!

If you could have any superpower, what would it be?

Animal Telepathy so Ican talk to my cat and other animals.

What’s your favorite ice hockey memory?

A core memory was helping to buildour college women’s club hockey team alongside Coach Gabby when we werelow on players. One of my favorite things about hockey is building comraderywith a diverse group of teammates, making new friends, and helping each otherlearn!

What's one piece of advice you’d give to young players?

If you start to feel discouraged or overwhelmed during practice or game, just tell yourself to “win the day”, whether that be trying something new, making a friend, making it to the end of the hour, or just having fun!

I’m very approachable and would love to get to know the players and families better this season!
