Refund, Returns, Donations & Event Ticket Policy

Pittsburgh Emperors

This Refund, Returns, Donations & Event Ticket Policy (“Policy”) governs all transactions with the Pittsburgh Emperors, including merchandise purchases, charitable donations, event tickets, registrations, and participation fees. Transactions may occur online, in person, or through third-party payment platforms.

The Pittsburgh Emperors (“Organization”) is a nonprofit organization operating in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

All transactions are subject to this Policy without exception.


1. Acceptance of Terms

By completing any transaction — including selecting Donate, Purchase, Register, or Complete Order through payment platforms such as Stripe, PayPal, Square, or other processors — you acknowledge that:

You have read and understood this Policy in plain language

You agree to be legally bound by its terms

You waive any claim that conflicts with this Policy to the fullest extent allowed by law

Failure to read this Policy does not relieve a purchaser or donor from its terms.


2. Nonprofit Status & Use of Funds

All proceeds from merchandise sales, event fees, registrations, and donations support the Pittsburgh Emperors’ mission, programs, and operational costs.

No purchase, donation, or transaction grants:

Ownership interest

Voting rights

Equity

Control of the Organization


3. Merchandise Returns

Returns will only be considered if ALL of the following conditions are met:

Return request submitted within 30 calendar days of purchase

Original receipt or proof of purchase is provided

Item is unused, unworn, unwashed, and in original condition

All tags and original packaging remain intact

NO RECEIPT = NO RETURN, NO REFUND, NO EXCHANGE

The Organization retains sole discretion to determine return eligibility.


4. Refund Method & Processing Time

Approved refunds will be issued only to the original payment method used for the purchase.

Refund processing may take up to ten (10) business days

Shipping, handling, and payment processing fees are non-refundable

The Organization is not responsible for delays caused by banks or payment processors


5. Apparel Merchandise — Exchange Only

Apparel items include, but are not limited to:

T-shirts

Hoodies

Sweatshirts

Jerseys

Hats

Jackets

Any branded wearable merchandise

Opened, worn, washed, altered, or heavily handled apparel cannot be refunded.

Items may be exchanged only, subject to:

Product availability

Compliance with the 30-day return window

Valid receipt or proof of purchase

Items may be briefly tried on, but must remain in clean, resalable condition with packaging intact whenever possible.

Customers are responsible for shipping costs related to exchanges unless otherwise required by law.


6. Event Tickets, Registrations & Participation Fees

STRICT NO-REFUND EVENT POLICY

All event-related purchases are final sale and non-refundable, including but not limited to:

Event tickets

Game admissions

Fundraisers

Clinics, camps, or programs

Registration or participation fees

Refunds will not be issued for:

Non-attendance

Scheduling conflicts

Weather conditions

Personal circumstances

Illness or injury

Event format changes


7. Event Changes, Cancellation & Force Majeure

The Organization reserves the right to:

Modify event dates, locations, formats, or participants

Cancel or reschedule events

If an event is canceled, the Organization may choose to provide one of the following remedies:

Event rescheduling

Ticket transfer

Credit toward a future event

Refunds are not guaranteed unless required by law.

The Organization is not responsible for cancellations due to circumstances beyond its control, including but not limited to:

Weather

Government orders

Public health emergencies

Facility issues

Acts of God


8. Donations — Final & Non-Refundable

All donations, including sponsorships and fundraising contributions, are:

Voluntary charitable contributions

Not purchases of goods or services

Final, irrevocable, and non-refundable

Donations are not eligible for refunds, returns, exchanges, or chargebacks.


9. IRS Donation Acknowledgment & Tax Matters

For federal tax purposes:

Donations may be tax-deductible to the extent permitted by law

No goods or services are provided in exchange for donations unless explicitly stated

Donors are responsible for maintaining their own tax records

The Organization does not provide tax, legal, or financial advice.


10. Damaged or Defective Merchandise

Claims for damaged or defective items must be submitted within seven (7) calendar days of receipt and must include:

Proof of purchase

Supporting documentation or photos

At the Organization’s discretion, the resolution may include:

Replacement item

Exchange

Refunds will be issued only when required by applicable law.


11. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

By completing a transaction, you agree:

To contact the Organization before initiating a chargeback

That improper chargebacks may be formally disputed

Abusive or fraudulent chargebacks may result in:

Permanent refusal of future transactions

Reporting to the payment processor

Recovery of administrative or dispute-related costs where permitted

Donations and event tickets are not eligible for chargebacks.


12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Organization is not liable for:

Indirect damages

Incidental damages

Consequential damages

arising from purchases, participation in events, or inability to obtain refunds.


13. Enforcement, Severability & Policy Changes

The Organization reserves the right to:

Enforce this Policy as written

Modify this Policy at any time

Update terms without prior notice

If any provision is deemed unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in effect.

The version posted at the time of the transaction governs.


14. Governing Law & Venue

This Policy is governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

Any disputes must be brought in courts located in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
